Classes
- I have no dance experience. Can I take your classes?
Absolutely! Everyone starts from somewhere! Our classes are designed to give you the strength, flexibility and co-ordination needed to accomplish the moves and routines we teach. You'll find that your classmates are likely thinking just the same thing!
- What should I wear & bring to class?
You are welcome to wear whatever is comfortable and functional to dance in. Skin contact is needed to grip the pole, so we recommend that you wear short shorts and a singlet top to class. Bare feet are fine, or you might like a little foot protection with some foot thongs or lightweight split-sole ballet slippers. Heels are an optional extra! Please wear layers in the cooler months of the year - yes, that means bring out the leg warmers (we do)! A hand towel is recommended; and a bottle of water is an essential for every class.
- I'm a beginner. Which class should I start with?
Pole Fundamentals is our beginner class. It's an 8 week course that will take you through all the basics you'll need to progress.
- I have just completed Fundamentals. Which is the best class for me to take next?
You have two choices from Fundamentals:
* Transitions I is the first intermediate level. It's a moves-based class, much like Fundamentals in that you'll be learning and revising moves, with a routine taught at the end of class that will build from week to week. You will learn your first inverts, step by step, in Transitions I.
* Pole Jami I is a dance-style class, where you'll learn a new routine every two weeks. A mix of Fundamentals and Transitions I moves are taught.
You can also choose to book into a mix of these two classes, to get the best of both cardio and strength workouts!
