Teacher Profiles

	Jamilla Deville is the creator of The Art of Pole series of DVDs and classes. Beginning her dance training with ballet and then jazz and african dance, Jamilla later trained in aerial arts such as trapeze, corde lisse (rope) and tissu (silks). She performed (aerial ladders) in the Tin Symphony section of the Opening Ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and in the same year she performed corde lisse at the National Circus and Theatre Festival at the Brisbane Powerhouse. Having won multiple awards in competitions such as Miss Nude Australia and Miss Erotica, Jamilla was awarded the title of Miss Pole Dance Australia in 2005. Since then she has continued to work in the industry as a world-renowned showgirl and pole dancer. In early April 2008 she travelled to Las Vegas to present pole dance workshops to women from all over the USA, including New York, Florida and California. Other teaching tour destinations for 2008 include Brisbane, Perth, Singapore, New Zealand, and the UK.
	Kim is trained in classical ballet, jazz, tap, character, lyrical, and hip hop, from the early age of 4. Since starting her professional career, Kim has performed all over Australia and extensively all over the world in such countries as England, France, Italy, India, Japan, China, USA, Sth America and Canada. She has performed at Jupiters Casino, Lido de Paris, Costa Cruises, Bal Tabarin, Paris Opera Ballet Company and in Las Vegas to name a few. Kim's choreographic and production experience includes The Girlie Production, which was performed in Australia and Italy, choreography and co-ordination of the Rothamans Farewell Event, Honda Formula One Grand Prix Gala Event and Charle lingerie launch (Japan). It has also taken her to India, which she has choreographed and produced events for Samsung, ABN Amro Bank, Le Meridien Hotel, Teachers Scotch, ITC Sheraton Hotel, Masterstroke Whiskey , McDowell Derby and JW Marriott Hotel Mumbai, where she has produced and choreographed the New Years Eve event since the hotel opened in 2001. Kim took up pole dancing around 4 years ago, to broaden her dance and circus skills. She has competed in various pole competitions which she was a finalist for “Miss Pole Dance Australia” 2004 and 2005 and was also runner–up in “Miss Pole Princess” 2006. She has also performed pole in international events in India and was a regular pole performer at Marrickville RSL for the last 3yrs.
	Cat began pole dancing in 2004, and quickly advanced to a professional level with thanks to her mentor Jamilla Deville. Always seeking new dance skills to enhance and complement her pole dancing, Cat has trained in such diverse styles as contortion, chair dancing and even capoeira. She has successfully competed in “Miss Amateur Pole Dancer 2004” and has performed at numerous events such as Sexpo 2006 and 2007, as well as the X-Pole National Breast Cancer Fundraiser. However her true passion is teaching. Cat has nearly three years' instructor experience in all levels from beginner to advanced.
