Teacher Profiles

Jamilla Deville is the creator of The Art of Pole series of DVDs and classes.

Beginning her dance training with ballet and then jazz and african dance, Jamilla later trained in aerial arts such as trapeze, corde lisse (rope) and tissu (silks).  She was a performer at the Opening Ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Having won multiple awards in competitions such as Miss Nude Australia and Miss Erotica, Jamilla was awarded the title of Miss Pole Dance Australia in 2005.  Since then she has continued to work in the industry as a world-renowned showgirl and pole dancer.

Since 2008 Jamilla has been one of the most in-demand instructors internationally, crossing several continents every year.  Her tours have taken her from east to west and back again across the US (including her favourite destination for three years running, Las Vegas); as well as the UK, France, Finland, Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand, and of course across Australia, including Perth, Melboure, and Brisbane.

Most recently, Jamilla has been voted by her peers as the current IPDFA Instructor of the Year.

Luxe began pole dancing in 2004, and quickly advanced to a professional level with thanks to her mentor Jamilla Deville. Always seeking new dance skills to enhance and complement her pole dancing, Luxe has trained in such diverse styles as contortion, chair dancing and even capoeira.

She has successfully competed in “Miss Amateur Pole Dancer 2004” and has performed at numerous events such as Sexpo 2006 and 2007, as well as the X-Pole National Breast Cancer Fundraiser.  However her true passion is teaching. Luxe has nearly three years' instructor experience in all levels from beginner to advanced.

Performing in concerts and competitions from the age of 8, Casey trained in Physical Culture and Contemporary Dance in her lead up to discovering pole dancing.  She is an avid believer in all that pole dancing can bring to ones life - fun, fitness and confidence!  The path in pole dancing is exciting and bright for Casey, who is looking to compete and to continue teaching for years to come.

Dallas Dee started pole dancing about 3.5 years ago and has been addicted ever since. She has a background in gymnastics – having competed at a national level.

She has performed in a number of competitions and showcases around Sydney including: Pole Candy, Sexpo and the Art of Pole Christmas Show. She hopes to compete in national and international competitions in the future.

Dallas Dee believes that pole dancing offers women a fun combination of strength training, cardio, flex training, which can help them grow to love their bodies.

She has a Bachelor of Media and is currently completing her Masters of Teaching.
